SOUQ AL BARAHA HOSTS 50 AFFILIATES OF THE BAHRAIN PARENTS CARE SOCIETY

Souq Al Baraha in Diyar Al Muharraq recently hosted 50 affiliates of the Bahrain Parents Care Society to spend a joyful Ramadan evening and participate in “Layali Al Baraha”; a daily television programme aired on Bahrain TV. The initiative comes within Souq Al Baraha’s keenness to enhance cooperation with civil society institutions, in order to consolidate the values of social responsibility throughout the Kingdom.

The visit included engaging the society’s affiliates in Ramadan competitions and traditional artistic segments on the sidelines of the “Layali Al Baraha” television show.

“Layali Al Baraha” is one of Bahrain TV’s Ramadan programmes this year. It is aired from Souq Al Baraha, which has an inspiring traditional character and is known for its strong connection to Bahraini heritage.

Bahrain Parents Care Society was established in May 2010 in Muharraq Governorate by a group of Muharraq notables and dignitaries. The society also includes the Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo Social Club for Parents, a licensed club that provides social, health and cultural services as a model for true partnership between public and private institutions in adopting volunteer initiatives that contribute to development. The club welcomes senior citizens during the day, allowing them to spend their time in productive activities.

This initiative aligns with the active role played by Souq Al Baraha in ensuring continued involvement of senior citizens in community activities and enhancing their role in societal fabric.

On this occasion, Eng. Ahmed Al Ammadi, CEO of Diyar Al Muharraq, stated: “We are delighted to host affiliates of Bahrain Parents Care Society at Souq Al Baraha. We extend our deep appreciation and respect to this generation who have dedicated their lives to serving the nation. The company has always focused on serving the community and is committed to conducting business in a responsible manner that has a positive impact on the local community and its members. We will continue to enhance our partnerships with civil society organisations to ensure that all sectors of society are addressed and their diverse needs are met.”

On his part, Mr. Ahmed Al Banna, Board Chairman of Bahrain Parents Care Society, commented: “We are proud of this constructive cooperation with Souq Al Baraha, which gives social responsibility a top priority in its business model. This initiative constitutes a praiseworthy reflection of the great interest the Society attaches to developing social, rehabilitative, and recreational services directed to senior citizens. In partnership with private sector companies, we look forward to more prominent initiatives with Souq Al Baraha to serve sustainable community leadership for this important segment of society.”

It is noteworthy that Souq Al Baraha offers an exceptional combination of the aesthetics of traditional architectural design and a modern shopping experience that keeps pace with the needs of visitors and provides them with a unique cultural and tourism experience, with a leasing area extending over 13,000 square metres.

It contains a diverse and comprehensive group of stores, including a hypermarket, a family entertainment centre, restaurants, cafés, and specialised shops for gold jewellery, handicraft products, tailoring, fabrics, dates, spices, popular sweets, antiques, and carpets. It also includes offices, public service facilities, and a mosque.

Souq Al Baraha offers a new concept of shopping with a harmonious atmosphere that combines the authenticity of the past with the modernity of the present. Visitors are provided with modern comforts in an authentic Bahraini style.

Furthermore, the market has attracted a large group of brands and tenants from the Kingdom of Bahrain and beyond, thanks to its strategic location in the heart of Diyar Al Muharraq. It is situated in one of the newest shopping and entertainment areas in the Kingdom and forms an integral part of the city’s masterplan.
