MKF Announces Participation of Three Bahraini Universities in “Khaleeji First” Campaign Ambassador Program

Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain – 12  October 2026: AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation (MKF) has announced the joining of three Bahraini universities to the “Khaleeji First” Campaign Ambassador Program, namely the University of Bahrain (UoB), Bahrain Polytechnic, and Ahlia University. This falls within the Foundation’s endeavours to empower youth and enhance their role in supporting the economy and shared Gulf identity.

The program aims to qualify a group of students to serve as Khaleeji First campaign ambassadors within their universities and local communities, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop initiatives that encourage the prioritisation of national and Gulf products and services. Between 10 and 15 student ambassadors will be chosen based on criteria such as dedication, communication skills, teamwork, and motivation to represent the initiative.

On this occasion, Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of MKF asserted that the program represents strategic investment in Gulf youth. She expressed pride in the partnership with the three higher education participants, highlighting their role in cultivating ambassadors capable of executing campaigns that enhance confidence in Gulf products and services, establishing a culture of Gulf prioritisation.

The accompanying training program is designed to instil essential skills including leadership, teamwork, communication, partnership building, design thinking, project management, digital marketing, and content creation for awareness campaigns.

Following the training, the ambassadors will launch innovative campaigns showcasing the quality of products and services across the Gulf. These efforts seek to encourage communities to explore and prefer regional offerings, supporting economic integration and reinforcing a shared Gulf identity.

His Excellency Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of the UoB, stated, “We are honoured to partner with MKF on this pioneering national and regional initiative, which aligns with our vision to develop our students’ skills and initiate them into future leaders who drive the economy as well as Gulf-wide initiatives. We fully support all student participants to serve as exemplary ambassadors for their university and nation.”

Similarly, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, commented, “Competitive thinking and innovation in project management and marketing are fundamentals that we aim to nurture in our students at Bahrain Polytechnic. We look forward to the impactful initiatives that our graduates will launch in service of enhancing the reputation and quality of Gulf products and services.”

For his part, Dr. Mansoor Alaali, President of Ahlia University, highlighted the university’s commitment to investing in youth development, commenting, “Preparing ambassadors who prioritise Gulf products and services represents a vital step toward sustainable development and regional integration among GCC countries.”

The Khaleeji First Campaign Ambassador Program is part of MKF’s broader efforts to offer qualitative opportunities for youth to develop leadership and practical skills, empowering them to promote Gulf products and services, support economic integration, and reinforce a unified Gulf identity.
